What Can We Train?
Did you just adopt a new dog to keep you company in quarantine? Maybe you’ve got a kitty and finally have some home time to address behavioral issues. We can use this remote pet training format to work in a wide variety of contexts. Offerings for dogs include puppy basic obedience, adult canine obedience, and targeted behavior work for problem issues like leash manners, reactivity, aggression, and anxiety. Our expertise is not limited to dogs; we can also work with your cat, parrot, chinchilla, bearded dragon, or chupacabra. Positive reinforcement is a science based training methodology that works across any species.
How It Works:
Online puppy training will be structured like our regular training appointments, but with a lot more flexibility. We will start with an initial 45 minute consultation in which we will discuss your needs and goals. During this session we will also go over our positive training philosophy, and get you started on the first steps towards training your pup. Next, we do follow-up video sessions as it fits your schedule and needs. Typically for dogs we do once a week for the first few weeks, then switch to bi-weekly or monthly until you’ve hit all of your goals.
What do I need?
In terms of physical supplies, we recommend getting a clicker (or two) and a lot of small training treats. Our favorite type for dogs is Zuke’s, but we’re happy to help you pick out an appropriate treat for your pet. We use Zoom, Skype or Google Hangouts for our remote sessions. You can find us at PawsitiveReinforcementPA@gmail.com. We prefer you use a laptop in an area where we can see both you and your pets, but are also able to work with tablets and phones.
What’s next?
Please fill out this form to request a remote training session. After we receive your form, we will contact you via your indicated method to set up a time. Try to have in mind a time in which most members of your family can participate in the online puppy training. Sessions cost $70 for the initial 45 minute consultation and $60 for the 30 minute followup sessions. There is an additional $10 charge for evening (after 5pm) appointments, weekend appointments, and exotic pets. Payment must be submitted via Paypal, Zelle, or Google Pay before the session begins, where we can be found by searching for PawsitiveReinforcementPA@gmail.com.
